Karen Gilmartin is a Shareholder, working out of the firm’s Miami office, and serves as a member of the Management Committee. Karen focuses her practice on the defense of employers, carriers and the self-insured in the field of Workers' Compensation and Subrogation.
Karen is certified by the state of Florida to provide Continuing Education courses for insurance carriers and regularly presents seminars on a wide variety of general workers’ compensation matters. She is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Florida Bar, a past member of the Worker’s Compensation Rules Committee, and has served as a faculty member for the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Trial Advocacy workshops. Additionally, Karen is an active member in both the Florida and National Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
Karen is an “AV” rated attorney, an honor that identifies a lawyer with very high preeminent legal ability and is a reflection upon the lawyer's experience, expertise, integrity and overall professional. Karen has also been honored by inclusion in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers and she was distinguished as one of South Florida’s “Top Lawyers 2011” by South Florida Legal Guide.
Karen earned a bachelor’s degree cum laude from the University of Miami and later received her law degree cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
