M. Lane Lowrey is a Partner in the firm’s Houston office. Lane’s practice focuses primarily upon the defense of claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, the Defense Base Act and the Jones Act as well as General Maritime claims.  Lane also specializes in cases involving product liability and trucking.  He also has handled numerous appeals, some of which have led to ground-breaking decisions in Texas law.  Lane has over 11 years of experience as a litigator, has achieved trial successes in some of Texas’ worst venues and has tried multiple death and traumatic injury cases to verdict against some of the most respected lawyers in the state.

Lane graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 where he was a captain of the fencing team.  Before his legal career, he worked as a high school teacher and continued teaching throughout the duration of law school. Lane graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1999, where he served as the Associate Editor of the South Texas Law Review and was a member of South Texas’ esteemed moot court team. Prior to joining the firm, Lane served as the briefing attorney to Chief Justice Paul C. Murphy on the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston.

Lane has published several legal articles on topics ranging from arbitration to the laws of evidence, some of which have been cited in opinions around the country. He is a member of the DOL Joint Bar Association and the Houston Bar Association. Lane is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and is admitted to the U.S Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas.
