Karen Gilmartin is Managing Partner of the firm’s Miami Lakes office. Her practice is focused on the defense of employers, carriers and self-insureds in the field of Workers' Compensation. She practices in South Florida and handles claims in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties. She is also well versed in the area of subrogation recovery in Workers' Compensation claims.

Karen joined the firm in 1987 and became a partner in 1992. She is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Florida Bar. She has served as a faculty member for the Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Trial Advocacy workshop on numerous occasions. She frequently lectures on a wide variety of topics in the Workers’ Compensation area. She also served on the Bar's Workers' Compensation Rules Committee from 1989-2000. Karen maintains professional membership in both Florida and National RIMS.

Karen graduated cum laude from the University of Miami in 1983 and went on to receive her J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami in 1986. She was admitted to the bar that same year. She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
