Client Alert from Kelley Kronenberg

To date, at least four JCCs have issued orders which allow a claimant to exercise their one-time change in a doctor by changing to another medical specialty. These orders are allowing for the change in specialty regardless of whether the employer/carrier timely authorizes a doctor within the same specialty as the original doctor. These orders are also allowing for the change in specialty without requiring a referral to that specialty. None of these orders have been challenged on appeal. View our newsletter here.
