ShareKelley Kronenberg’s Fort Lauderdale Attorneys Recognized at Lifestyle Media Group’s Leaders in Law 2014 Awards Event
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Valerie Barton Barnhart, an attorney with the Fort Lauderdale office of Kelley Kronenberg, was selected as the Leaders in Law Awards 2014 “Rising Stars Honoree” by Lifestyle Media Group. Firm Principal Partner and Chief Financial Officer Heath S. Eskalyo was also selected as a Finalist in the Litigation / Civil Trial category. All of the honorees and finalists were recognized at a January 21, 2014 reception at Nova Southeastern University.
Lifestyle Media Group created the Leaders in Law Awards to honor the lawyers, law firms, and corporate counsel that promote excellence in law, maintain the highest level of ethics, show a commitment to their community and are proven leaders. The nominees were judged on outstanding litigation, advocacy, counseling, and advancements to the legal profession, as well as contributions to the advancement of the bar, such as public service, bar association activities, and pro bono activities.
Valerie Barnhart
Ms. Barnhart focuses her practice on commercial matters with an emphasis on the drafting and negotiation of contracts and shareholder agreements, contractual disputes, shareholder actions, construction defect defense, the formation and structuring of business entities, transactions involving the purchase and sale of business assets, and secured transactions. She serves as an elected representative for the 17th Circuit on the Florida Bar Board of Governors Young Lawyers Division and is a member of the Bench and Bar Committee for the Broward County Bar Association. Additionally, Ms. Barnhart is an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University and assists students who are preparing for the Florida Bar Examination.
She is also active with charities, operating in a leadership role with Starlight Children’s Foundation of Florida, serving as Committee member for “Fashion Scene Miami.”
Heath Eskalyo
Mr. Eskalyo has been directly involved in the firm’s growth from a statewide practice to one with a national presence. A Civil Trial Litigator, he focuses his practice on Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, Defense Base Act claims, Insurance Fraud, Civil Liability, Construction Law and Occupational Accident and Truckers Occupational Insurance claims. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and is a Florida Certified Educator.
Additionally, Mr. Eskalyo directs the firm’s philanthropic efforts and oversees involvement in community events and fundraisers. He serves on the Board of Directors for The Victory Center, a nonprofit organization that provides education and services for children and families affected by autism, developmental or behavioral challenges. He co-founded Team Victory, a 501c3 non-profit team that selects noteworthy charities and participates in triathlons to raise money and awareness on their behalf.
