Calvin Gittens is an attorney at Kelley Kronenberg, where he assists in handling matters related to general liability insurance defense.
Before joining Kelley Kronenberg, Calvin spent over eleven years as an Assistant Public Defender for Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit where he represented citizens accused of misdemeanor and felony violations. During his tenure, he conducted 46 trials and represented his clients in their criminal appeals.
Calvin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University. While working toward his degree, he participated in a study abroad program through the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Barry University School of Law, where he achieved academic excellence with the highest score in his Construction Law course and rival marks in his Trial Advocacy and Legal Research and Writing courses. While making his mark scholastically, Calvin was also revered for his involvement in the Black Law Students Association, where he was Pro Bono Coordinator, and for his work as one of the law school’s Writing Center Leaders.
Calvin began amassing experience, spending two years as a White Collar Crime Legal Assistant for a large law firm in New York City. While in law school, Calvin garnered additional experience as a Summer Associate for Traveler’s Insurance’s Staff Counsel and as a Law Clerk for a well-renowned real estate firm in West Palm Beach, Florida. In cases involving medical issues, our clients benefit from Calvin’s prior experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.
