Felipe received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Florida International University. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law, where he was an Equal Justice America Fellow and a recipient of the DePaul Diversity Scholarship. He also served as President of the Latino Law Student Association and was awarded the CALI Excellence Award in Legal Research & Analysis III and Pre-trial Civil Litigation Strategies.

While attending law school, Felipe served as a Judicial Extern in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County Chicago, Illinois. During his 2L year, Felipe interned at the Legal Aid Society of the Metropolitan Family Services, gaining court experience as an Illinois 711 Supreme Court Licensed law student.”
