Overview

Jessica Marra is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg and focuses her practice on general liability and third-party insurance defense, as well as labor and employment law, and gig economy liability She has a background in criminal law, workers’ compensation, contract disputes, and administrative matters. Her legal work currently includes defending businesses and municipalities when they are sued under various tort theories or state and federal employment laws. She handles premises liability claims, including negligent security, municipal liability, and product liability cases, in addition to discrimination and/or wrongful termination claims. Jessica’s extensive litigation experience, work ethic, and methodical attention to detail have enabled her to excel in her field and zealously represent her clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Jessica worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Office of the State Attorney, Seventeenth Judicial Circuit where she worked as a felony prosecutor trying numerous cases to verdict.

Jessica graduated, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broward College of Law where she served as Student Body President. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

Jessica is fluent in Spanish and is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.

  • Successfully defended a property owner in slip and fall accident against a Plaintiff who fell down the stairs of an exterior building, suffering a severe coccyx injury. Amongst other defenses, a thorough review of Plaintiff’s medical records contradicted Plaintiff’s story and the weather conditions that likely caused her fall.
  • Successfully defended a municipality after a bystander fell into a hole on City property, fracturing her ankle.
  • Successfully defended a homeowner after her employee tripped outside of her home, causing permanent facial scarring.
  • Successfully defended a homeowner where he was alleged to have negligently caused a fire in his home, causing damage to the Plaintiff’s property, securing a very large reduction in alleged damages based on case law and persuasive, strong legal arguments.
  • Successfully defended a business alleged to have negligently installed a home appliance, causing property damage to Plaintiff’s home.
