Overview

Maura Krause is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, focusing her practice on general liability and third-party insurance defense. She is a seasoned litigator who has practiced in many areas of civil and criminal law throughout her career.    

Maura’s defense experience spans all areas of general liability litigation. She handles premises liability claims for a wide range of commercial, retail, hospitality, and residential apartment holdings and cases involving property management and security, construction, product liability, and employer’s liability. She also defends companies of all sizes in contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, misrepresentation, and other business tort claims.  

She has abundant experience serving clients in the transportation industry, including the defense of high-exposure catastrophic personal injury, cargo damage/shortage, and product liability claims. Her transportation work also encompasses employment, premises liability, contract dispute, insurance coverage, subrogation, and regulatory matters.  

Maura brings to her cases a wealth of talent and experience gained from her diverse background. Maura began her career representing the State of Georgia as a prosecutor in Atlanta, Georgia. She prosecuted misdemeanor offenses with the DeKalb County Solicitor’s Office, where she was lead counsel in approximately 20 jury trials and 40 bench trials during her tenure. Maura then prosecuted felony offenses for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in Atlanta, GA, where she was quickly promoted to Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Major Case Division. In that division, she exclusively prosecuted homicides and high-profile cases.  

Maura received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Valparaiso University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law.
