Overview

Steven Scharf is an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated Partner and Business Unit Leader, focusing his practice on first-party insurance defense and workers’ compensation. Steven rejoins the firm as a Partner, after initially beginning his legal career with Kelley Kronenberg, straight after his graduation from law school.  At the beginning of his law career, Steven developed his legal skills and litigation techniques under the training and supervision of some of the firm’s founding partners. His in-depth experience in handling workers’ compensation and property defense claims, from their inception through the trial and appellate stages, has enabled Steven to develop an aggressive yet cost-effective approach to managing claims on behalf of employers, third-party administrators, and prestigious insurance carriers.

Prior to joining the firm, Steven was a Partner at an insurance defense firm. He is a member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and the South Florida Claims Association. He is actively involved in the Friends of 440 organization and serves as a trustee of the foundation.

Steven earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, as well as a minor in Economics from Tulane University. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. Steven also attended Tulane University School of Law in Paris, France and Amsterdam, The Netherlands where he studied European Community Law.

While attending law school, Steven was a certified intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s office where he actively participated in misdemeanor and homicide trials, as well as assisting with professional athlete contract negotiations for a sports agency.
