Sunita “Nita” Smith is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, where she handles matters spanning every aspect of general liability and third-party property insurance defense. With a career spanning various practice areas, Nita’s vast expertise enriches the firm’s General Liability and Third-Party Insurance Division. 

Transitioning from two years in the firm’s First-Party Property Insurance Defense Division, Nita seamlessly integrated her experience into Kelley Kronenberg’s framework. Previously, she worked at a national law firm, focusing on first-party and third-party property litigation and insurance coverage. Before that, Nita engaged in contract work across Florida, gaining exposure to diverse practice areas. This varied background, including managing employment discrimination, medical malpractice cases, and appeals, equips Nita to contribute effectively to her current role. 

Nita received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida State University. While attending FSU, Nita worked at a state agency and as a legislative intern. After FSU, Nita worked at a non-profit organization, interned at the Florida Governor’s press office, and worked in Olympic Village at the 1996 Olympics. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law. While attending law school, Nita was certified by the California Bar to represent inmates at Board of Prison Terms hearings.
