Chief Business Development Officer
Thomas Choberka is the Chief Business Development Officer for Kelley Kronenberg, a full-service business law firm with 175 attorneys and twelve offices spanning several states.
As part of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team, Thomas guides the firm’s strategic direction to drive firm growth, create and execute on client-centric development strategies, and advance brand awareness. Thomas advises the firm on brand identity and differentiation and facilitates innovative programs to improve business opportunities, increase efficiencies and enhance the client experience. Further, Thomas works closely with practice group and office leaders, throughout the firm’s offices, to develop and implement comprehensive business development plans and strategies. He coaches individual attorneys on an array of marketing initiatives, including business development and client engagement. He also oversees the firm’s client service, marketing, and business development teams.
Upon joining the firm in 2012, he created a dedicated team of marketing, communications, client service, and business development professionals to develop and implement the firm’s overall marketing and business development strategy, and brand identity. Under his leadership, this team focuses on all aspects of marketing, media relations, digital marketing, advertising, and branding and client development strategies for individual firm attorneys, practice groups and client service teams.
Thomas brings his passion for marketing, sales, and technology to help the firm increase its value to clients. He has guided the firm through a complete rebrand, built and launched a new, custom firm website, developed an Attorney sales/compensation origination plan, and established and institutionalized a firm-wide business development program, among other key initiatives, all with the goal of shifting the image and culture of Kelley Kronenberg. Further, under his direction, Kelley Kronenberg has adopted several innovative professional service sales processes, including one-on-one, personalized, Attorney business development and sales coaching, with a focus on teaching Attorney’s sales strategies to maximize their results. He also manages institutional client relationships and has developed marketing and management strategies aimed at improving the way the firm and clients interact.
Since 2014, the Legal Marketing Association has recognized Thomas’ team with 16 Your Honor Awards spanning a wide range of categories including: Brand Identity, Events, Community Relations, Technology Management, Website Rebrand/Overhaul, Social Media and Engagement, and three consecutive first-place wins for Practice Development.
Thomas is an avid speaker and has presented on several diverse topics at various firm seminars and summits, legal marketing conferences, industry associations, and non-profit organizations. He also serves as a circuit-speaker for the Southeastern Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association.
Thomas is actively involved in the community, serving in a multitude of leadership roles over the years. He previously served on the Advisory Board for the American Red Cross – Broward Chapter, and Chairs the Board’s Communications’ Committee.
Thomas attended both the University of Texas at Arlington and Bridgewater State University. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
