Valerie Barton Barnhart, an attorney with the Fort Lauderdale office of Kelley Kronenberg, was elected to The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Board of Governors on March 22, 2013. The YLD Board of Governors is responsible for the general management and affairs of the Division and to provide a full and complete program of activities and projects designed to be of interest and assistance to YLD members. Her position will officially commence on June 28, 2013.
Ms. Barnhart focuses her practice on Commercial Litigation, including Arbitration Disputes, Secured Transactions, Shareholder Disputes, Contract litigation and the formation and dissolution of corporations and other business entities.
She is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the Broward County Women Lawyers Association. She is licensed to practice in Florida and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Outside the office, Ms. Barnhart actively volunteers for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. She has provided pro bono legal services through Lawyers to the Rescue, a nonprofit organization committed to providing humanitarian assistance to individuals and communities in times of crisis. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University and instructs students who are preparing for the Florida Bar Examination.
Ms. Barnhart earned her bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University with a major in legal studies. She received her juris doctor, summa cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center.
