Kelley Kronenberg Announces Addition of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins as Partner and Business Unit Leader
Prominent public servant and legal media commentator joins firm with her legal team to lead complex commercial litigation practice.
[FORT LAUDERDALE, FL] – Kelley Kronenberg is pleased to announce that Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins has joined the firm as Partner and Business Unit Leader for Complex Commercial Litigation and as a member of the firm’s Business Legal Team. Commissioner Cohen Higgins joins the firm with her legal team, including Partner Keith R. Gaudioso, bringing nearly two decades of business law and litigation experience combined with unique insights from her role as an elected public servant and legal media commentator.
Commissioner Cohen Higgins currently serves as a Miami-Dade County Commissioner, representing nearly three hundred thousand residents. In this role, she has developed numerous projects beneficial to the community including passing critical infrastructure projects like building bridges, micro mobility trails, and creating affordable housing opportunities. She has also created recurring legacy programs like Safe Summers, Hometown Heroes, and Community Conversation. She serves as the Chairwoman of the Airport Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee, Board Member of the Transportation Planning Organization, and immediate past Chairwoman of the Biscayne Bay Watershed Advisory Board.
She also recently provided on-air commentary regarding legal and policy matters on networks such as MSNBC, ABC, and FOX Live Now.

Prior to joining Kelley Kronenberg, Commissioner Cohen Higgins was Managing Shareholder of her own law firm, Cohen Law, where she handled complex commercial litigation cases from filing through jury and bench trials and appeals in both state and federal court. She has also worked as an associate at a large international law firm, providing litigation support and complex commercial civil trial support.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Florida, where she was recognized on the President’s Honor List and Dean’s List and received the Oasis Award for Recognition of Honors. She received her Juris Doctor from Florida State University, where she received a Book Award for Advanced Civil Procedure and served as Founder and Editor of the student newsletter, The Voice.
She is proficient in Spanish.
