ShareKelley Kronenberg Principal Partner and Chief Legal Officer Karen M. Gilmartin Selected to Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame
Miami Lakes, Fla. – Karen M. Gilmartin, a Principal Partner and Chief Legal Officer with the national law firm Kelley Kronenberg, has been voted into the Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame. This group is comprised of individuals from Florida who have had a substantial impact in the field of Workers’ Compensation throughout their careers. Mrs. Gilmartin will be inducted at a special ceremony on January 23, 2015, at the Palma Ceia Country Club in Tampa.
The Board of Directors of the Florida Workers’ Compensation Institute (FWCI) established this prestigious group in 2011 to honor participants in the Workers’ Compensation system who have devoted their lives to the practice and, through their work, have provided significant advancements to the system. The Hall of Fame is composed of attorneys (representing both sides), judges and individuals from the industry.
Mrs. Gilmartin has nearly three decades of experience in the defense of employers, carriers and self-insureds in Workers’ Compensation matters, and is well versed in the area of subrogation recovery in Workers’ Compensation claims. As one of the premiere defense lawyers in Florida, she regularly presents seminars on a wide variety of legal matters and is certified by the state to provide Continuing Education courses for insurance carriers.
Rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, Mrs. Gilmartin has also been recognized as a “Top Lawyer” by South Florida Legal Guide in 2011 and 2014. Recently, she was named a “Power Leader in Law” by the South Florida Business Journal.
Mrs. Gilmartin received both her bachelor’s and law degrees, cum laude, from the University of Miami. She is admitted to practice law in Florida.
