Suzette Cozzi is a Senior Attorney in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, focusing her practice on Civil Liability as well as claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act (DBA). Suzette’s litigation experience also extends to the practice areas of Personal Injury, Premises Liability, Probate, Social Security Disability, Contract Law and General Civil Litigation.
Suzette is an active member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), the Human Resource Association of Broward County (HRABC), the Construction Association of South Florida (CASF), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Broward County Bar Association. Additionally, she has volunteered both as a guardian ad litem and a high school legal studies instructor. Suzette is certified by the state of Florida to conduct continuing legal education courses and frequently presents seminars for the firm’s clients.
A native South Floridian, Suzette received her bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University where she was the President of the Pre-law Association, a Justice on the Student Court, and a Student Government Representative. In 2001, she earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where she received the “Book Award” in torts, was the Lead Technical Editor of the ILSA Journal of International & Comparative Law, was the Treasurer of the Information Technology Society, and was an appointed mentor.
