Nicholas Young is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, where he focuses his practice on insurance defense litigation, representing insurance carriers and insured individuals in a broad range of third-party claims. His practice includes automobile negligence, bodily injury defense, uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims, personal injury protection (PIP)/no-fault litigation, insurance coverage matters, and related civil litigation.
Nicholas has extensive experience handling all phases of litigation, from initial case evaluation and development of defense strategies through discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and settlement negotiations. His practice frequently involves complex liability and damages disputes, including claims involving disputed causation, alleged permanent injuries, pre-existing medical conditions, extensive medical treatment, and significant future medical expenses.
In representing insurance carriers and their insureds, Nicholas regularly evaluates liability, potential exposure, insurance coverage, and the reasonableness and necessity of claimed medical expenses. He works closely with medical professionals, accident reconstructionists, biomechanical engineers, radiologists, and other expert witnesses to evaluate disputed injuries and develop comprehensive defense strategies. He also advises clients regarding litigation risks, settlement opportunities, proposals for settlement, and strategies for achieving efficient and favorable resolutions.
Nicholas earned his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from the University of South Florida, where he served as an E-board member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from The University of Florida Levin College of Law. During law school, he served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Kristine Van Vorst of the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida, while also dedicating time to pro-bono work as a student associate for the UF Levin College of Law Conservation Clinic and serving as house operations associate and volunteer supervisor for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida.
