Until a person is legally adjudicated as incapacitated, they have the full right to make whatever decisions they want.

Who Can Be a Guardian?

  • Any Florida resident at least 18 years old and certain relatives that are not Florida residents may serve as a guardian. No person who has been convicted of a felony or incapable of discharging the duties of a guardian may be appointed.
