Charles M. Prior Attorney Profile | Kelley Kronenberg

Overview

Charles Prior is a Partner and Business Unit Leader in the firm’s West Palm Beach office. As part of his practice, he assists in handling matters related to general liability, first-party property insurance, criminal defense, and personal injury protection (“PIP”) defense.

Before joining the firm, Charles worked for a full-service law firm where he gained experience in all areas of insurance defense, managed a caseload of over 200 files, and efficiently litigated cases from inception to trial.

Charles has a decade of experience handling PIP claims for local and national insurance companies throughout Florida. Charles works closely with insurance carriers to ensure compliance with Florida’s PIP statute. He has extensive experience handling many PIP matters, including claims denied based on coverage, IME cutoffs, denials based on Emergency Medical Conditions, and failure to seek treatment within 14 days. Charles routinely investigates suspicious claims and insurance fraud or misrepresentation on behalf of a carrier’s insureds and healthcare providers, as well as defenses based on the reasonableness of the medical provider’s charges, medical necessity of the medical provider’s services, and the relation of services to motor vehicle accidents.

Before beginning his legal career, Charles was an English Teacher in Busan, South Korea, for Recruit Busan International.

Charles earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from Florida Southern College. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Barry University School of Law, where he graduated at the top of his class.  During law school, Charles was the Notes and Comments Editor of the Barry Environmental and Earth Law Journal.

Charles is also a Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician, accredited by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC).
