Lisa M. Hoffman Attorney Profile | Kelley Kronenberg

Overview

Lisa M. Hoffman is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg. She is part of the justice for kids division, the firm’s national practice dedicated to providing legal services to abused, disabled, and catastrophically injured children harmed in foster care, shelters, residential treatment centers, group homes, and other child welfare settings, as well as all children harmed by the acts of others.

Lisa focuses her practice on foster care and disabled person’s damages, civil rights, personal injury, and child welfare litigation. She represents children who have been injured, physically or sexually abused, and harmed in Florida’s child welfare system and disability systems.

Lisa began her legal career working under the late Gainesville lawyer and pioneering child legal advocate, Gloria Fletcher. During this time, Lisa represented children who had been injured or abused in the Florida child welfare system and advocated for clients in personal injury claims and other civil matters.

Lisa’s early experience with the court system came as a judicial intern under the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa. Her work included drafting court opinions and observing criminal and civil court proceedings and left a lasting impression on the future child advocacy attorney. Lisa later served as a law clerk for Children’s Legal Services at the Department of Children and Families in Lake City, Florida. Her responsibilities included research, drafting petitions, and attending hearings. This introduction to the legal components of the child welfare system encouraged Lisa to fight to ensure children’s voices in Florida are heard and their messages never forgotten.

Lisa earned both her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, and her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida.
