Kelley Kronenberg Secures Dismissal with Prejudice in Hurricane Irma Claim

Kelley Kronenberg Attorney, Jennifer Orcutt-Angius, successfully represented Security First Insurance Company in a breach of contract action in Orange County, Florida. The Honorable James A. Craner presided over the proceedings.

The plaintiff sought damages totaling $50,000 in relation to a late-reported Hurricane Irma claim. The case had been pending since 2020 and had undergone several transitions between legal teams, finally being referred to Jennifer Orcutt-Angius for handling.

Jennifer strategically filed a Motion for Summary Judgment, emphasizing the late report and the absence of peril created openings. On the day of the Motion for Summary Judgment Hearing, just as the defense was poised to present its case, opposing counsel dismissed the entire case with prejudice, resulting in a favorable outcome with considerable savings for Security First Insurance Company.

We thank Security First Insurance Company for entrusting us with this important matter.
