This strategic expansion will be led by Amy Koltnow, a Partner and Business Unit Leader at the firm with over 30 years of legal experience. Amy’s proven track record as a trial attorney, handling complex and high-stakes bench and jury trials, makes her ideally suited to lead this new practice area.
The firm’s Bad Faith practice area focuses on defending insurance companies against allegations of bad faith in claims handling and policy disputes. The expansion of this service offering reflects the firm’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clients in the insurance industry.

Amy’s experience extends beyond traditional litigation. She previously served as outside General Counsel for a Florida property and casualty insurance company, where she oversaw statewide litigation, established claims handling protocols, and provided strategic counsel to company executives. This background gives her unique insights into the challenges faced by insurance companies and the strategies needed to defend against bad faith claims. Amy has served as an expert witness in litigated insurance disputes, providing testimony in court to assist judges in determining the reasonableness of attorney’s fees.
Adding to her impressive credentials, Amy is certified as a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) instructor. She has presented numerous CLEs on bad faith for attorneys and insurance companies throughout the state, further solidifying her reputation as a leading expert in this field.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law. Her diverse background and wealth of experience position her to provide innovative solutions and robust defenses for clients facing bad faith allegations.
Amy will be heading a team of seasoned litigators, including Jeffrey Wank, Daniel Montgomery, and Andrew Labbe, with a coverage area that includes the entire state of Florida.
