Kelley Kronenberg Named Among Best Places to Work by South Florida Business Journal

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Thanks to significant changes to the corporate culture and benefits package, Kelley Kronenberg has been named a 2020 finalist in a “Best Places to Work” survey by the South Florida Business Journal.

“We committed to and executed improvements that have made our firm an ideal place for lawyers and their staff,” said Michael Fichtel, Kelley Kronenberg’s CEO and Principal Partner. “Our workplace is collaborative, respectful and team-oriented. We now have a family-friendly environment and employee programs and benefits that other firms don’t offer.”

Kelley Kronenberg’s full-service human resources department instituted the changes. The firm introduced a comprehensive, two-day onboarding and training program for all new employees. For existing employees, the firm created a professional development department that hosts monthly “Lunch & Learns,” a mentorship program, and a “Rising Leaders Committee” consisting of young attorneys throughout the firm’s ten offices.

“Kelley Kronenberg’s values align with mine,” said Alison Smith, Partner at Kelley Kronenberg.  “ the firm significantly values work-life balance, and strongly encourages you to take time for yourself and your family.”

The firm made leadership training available, as well as one-on-one personal branding and business development coaching sessions, and behavioral team training sessions. Additional offerings included a re-engineered benefits package with a better maternity leave plan, a wellness program, and a leadership convention.

“We also transformed the career path for attorneys,” Fichtel said, “creating a clear path to partnership and other opportunities for professional growth. We recognize that the newest generation of attorneys want intellectual stimulation, mentoring and quick career progression. We have changed our culture to anticipate those wants while maintaining continuity of leadership.”

To be considered a “Best Places to Work,” a third-party company sent questionnaires to law firm employees, asking them to rate their employer and evaluate the environment in which they work. Kelley Kronenberg qualified in the large-company category based on employee feedback.

This Best Places to Work recognition comes on the heels of several recent accolades, including Forbes naming Kelley Kronenberg one of America’s Top Trusted Corporate Law Firms of 2019 and U.S. News- Best Lawyers® recognizing the firm in multiple categories for its 2020 “Best Law Firms” list.

“The firm has created an environment that is focused on the success of each attorney,” said Jeff Wank, Partner at Kelley Kronenberg. “beginning with management and trickling down to each associate, the firm is geared to maximize the employee experience.”

Due to its substantial growth, Kelley Kronenberg recently built a new state-of-the-art, 35,000 square-foot headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. The office has a distinctive architectural design and advanced technological elements. They include a mock courtroom, a rooftop terrace, a café, and workspaces thoughtfully curated to foster collaboration and client convenience. The new headquarters serves to accommodate the firm’s continued growth and allows the team to better serve its clients.
