Kelley Kronenberg Welcomes Don W. Allen and Michael J. Rigelsky to its Orlando Office

ORLANDO, Fla. — Kelley Kronenberg, a diverse business law firm, announced that Don W. Allen has joined the firm’s Orlando office as a Partner and Michael J. Rigelsky has joined as an Attorney.

Since 1998, Allen has been Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a Workers’ Compensation specialist. He possesses nearly three decades of experience handling Workers’ Compensation issues in Florida courts, including presumption claims under the Heart/Lung Bill. Throughout his legal career, Allen has handled all aspects of Workers’ Compensation defense matters, having represented numerous insurance companies and large corporations throughout Florida. Additionally, he has authored more than 55 appellate briefs and has argued before the First District Court of Appeal.

Allen was nominated by Governor Crist in 2007 and Governor Bush in 2006 to serve as a Judge of Compensation Claims by the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Orlando District and the Fort Myers District, respectively.

As a leader in his field, Allen is a member of the American Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar. He frequently publishes on case law and issues within the Workers’ Compensation industry, and he is certified by the state of Florida to conduct Continuing Education courses. He regularly presents seminars on Workers’ Compensation legal matters.

Allen earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, the Florida Supreme Court, the United States District Court Middle District of Florida, and the United States Supreme Court.

Rigelsky focuses his practice on civil litigation defense and risk management, including matters related to First and Third Party Insurance Defense, and counseling companies on strategic initiatives.

Before joining the firm, Rigelsky worked both at a national law firm and as in-house counsel, including as General Counsel for a telecommunications data company. He managed and directed corporate legal matters concerning risk management, intellectual property, real estate, employment, human resources and policies and the coordination of technology platforms.

Rigelsky has represented public and private companies in complex civil cases in both federal and state courts throughout the country. He has experience handling matters involving product liability, wrongful death, severe personal injury claims, contract claims, insurance coverage, transportation claims, technology, licensing, banking, fraud claims, employee issues, nondisclosure agreements, professional and medical liability and malpractice, real estate, construction, condominium, and premises liability issues.

Rigelsky earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from George Washington University School of Law. Rigelsky is admitted to practice law in Florida, Ohio, Virginia, The United States District Court, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the United States District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
