ShareKelley Kronenberg Welcomes Starr Linette Brookins as Partner and Business Unit Leader
[TAMPA, FL] Kelley Kronenberg, a full-service law firm, announces the addition of Starr Linette Brookins as Partner and Business Unit Leader in its Tampa office.
An accomplished trial attorney, Starr has established herself through successful first-chair representation in both state and federal courts throughout Florida. Her experience includes presenting oral arguments before the Second District Court of Appeal and securing significant victories for clients, including a notable defense verdict in federal court—affirmed by the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals—in a $14.7 million case.
Prior to joining Kelley Kronenberg, Starr served as Senior Trial Attorney at a major insurance company, where she managed complex litigation involving bodily injury and motorist claims. Her diverse legal background includes positions as an Associate Legal Advisor handling ad valorem taxation matters, a Litigation Attorney focusing on property coverage and extra-contractual claims, and a Hearing Officer for Hillsborough County where she presides over cases and renders decisions.
A leader in the legal community, Starr currently serves as President of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers; Chair of Young Women of Promise with the Athena Society; a Scholarship Banquet Committee Member with the George Edgecomb Bar Association; and is a Volunteer Judge with Teen Court. She is Immediate Past Vice President of the Guardian Ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay and Immediate Past Chair of the Human Relations Boards. She holds board positions with The Regent, The Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, and The University of Tampa Board of Counselors.
Starr has received numerous professional accolades, including recognition among The National Black Lawyers Top 100, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers’ Leader in the Law award, and Best Lawyers®: Ones to Watch. She earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School as a Presidential Merit Scholar and her Bachelor of Science in Criminology, magna cum laude, from The University of Tampa.
