Overview

Michael Sharp is an attorney in Kelley Kronenberg’s General Liability Division. He focuses his practice on civil litigation defense, including products liability, construction accidents, premises liability, and negligent security.

Before joining Kelley Kronenberg, Michael served as an Assistant State’s Attorney focusing on criminal misdemeanor cases. A skillful litigator, he successfully tried multiple bench and jury trials; and argued various pre- and post-trial motions involving evidence admissibility, constitutional issues, statutory interpretation and more.

Michael graduated from Bradley University, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Legal Studies, where he served as President of the Pre-Law Club, as a Scholar Leader in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. He earned his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School, where he graduated with honors, was recognized as a Cady Law Opportunity Fellow, served as the Program Director for the Black Law Student Association, and was a member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law. While in law school, Michael served as an Honors Judicial Intern for Chief Magistrate Judge Adams in the Federal Southern District Court of Iowa, where he drafted court orders and produced bench memos on complex legal issues involving contract law, social security law, and general civil and criminal matters. Michael also gained legal experience as a law clerk in firms that dealt with criminal defense, personal injury, family law, employment law, and corporate finance.
