ShareKelley Kronenberg Plans to Revolutionize Firm Structure with New Practice Group Partner Track
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Kelley Kronenberg is on a mission to revolutionize the common structure of law firms by offering new programs that are formed with the millennial workforce in mind. The progressive firm is leading change in the legal community with programs that stress the importance of each employee. Most recently, the firm has implemented the Practice Group Partner track to provide a crystal-clear path to firmwide partnership.
A Practice Group Partner (PGP) bridges the gap between an Associate and a Firm Partner. PGPs are Associates who have maintained outstanding performance for an extended period of time and have developed expertise in their areas of practice. During their time as PGP’s, they will be afforded leadership and business development training as well as mentorship to prepare them for the next step of becoming a firmwide Partner.
“Our innovative Practice Group Partner track gives us the opportunity to show Associates we are invested in their future as a potential Firm Partner,” said Michael Fichtel, Kelley Kronenberg’s Principal Partner and Chief Executive Officer.
In order to be considered for the title of Practice Group Partner, an Associate must fulfill certain prerequisites:
- Show consistency and continuity in both the quality and production of their legal work.
- Have proven expertise within their area of legal practice including excellent client relations.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the firm’s values as a representative of the Kelley Kronenberg brand.
Associates who are considered for the PGP title are nominated once a year, in December, by either their unit leader or by the firm’s leadership team. Nominations are then reviewed by the Partner Committee and announced in January.
“Change in the way firm leaders interact with the next generation of attorneys is non-negotiable. The leadership at Kelley Kronenberg recognizes this and we all are implementing new ways to prioritize the needs of each person at the firm,” said Barbara Repandis, the firm’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “By investing in their careers, we promote an environment that supports growth and development.”
Due to its substantial growth, the firm recently built a new state-of-the-art, 35,000 square-foot headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. The new headquarters serves to accommodate the firm’s continued growth to more than 160 lawyers and the facilitation of new programs and initiatives.
